I used to be SOOO offended by people who went to church and celebrated christmas and easter… after Jesus led me out of church and taught me about pagan holidays I couldnt believe that people claiming Christ would ever participate in those things…
I’ve learned recently that those things don’t even matter. They will all pass away.
It’s the heart that God is concerned with.
Who cares if you quit going to church and quit celebrating pagan holidays but you look down on others who don’t know as much as you. Who cares if you understand all the mysteries of Gods Kingdom but you wont apologize to those you have hurt, or you ignore the people who go out of their way to help you.
This is what real hypocrisy is: telling Jesus how much you love Him, whilst treating others badly. This is the leaven of the Pharisees.
All is vanity without the love of God in your heart.
If you treat people badly, say horrible things about them, look down on others, don’t apologize to those you have hurt, or don’t acknowledge those who help you…it doesn’t matter how much you know, or what you do or don’t participate in… it’s all in vain.
The way you treat others is the way you treat Jesus.
Jesus goes thru everything with every single person on the planet with them… whether they know Him or not. He bears the burdens of people who dont even walk with Him. He feels the pain of every single heart.
All is vanity if you dont have the Love of God in your heart for people… and that doesn’t come from bible knowledge… it only comes from getting to know Jesus, asking Him how He sees people, and seeing thru the eyes of His heart.
Without love you are nothing.
A sister in Christ “Ma ri” left me a beautiful comment recently and she said it much better than I ever could, I’m just repeating what she wrote (and leaving out some personal things):
Paul spoke of this that when we speak to another it is to edify, not shame or judge them- to have the truth in us we would know this- but many still judge the flesh and in the flesh, showing they do not speak from the Holy Spirit, which is not our words but Gods words- they still have not come to understand the mercy of our Father- I will have mercy and not sacrifice. Those who do not understand this should read this because it explains where they do not understand why we are here- we have the inner voice and listen, but for the ones who have not come to this, sometimes need to read to come to understanding. 👇
1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.
2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.
3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.
4 Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,
5 Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;
6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;
7 Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.
8 Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.
9 For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.
10 But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.
11 When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.
12 For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
13 And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.
